How to hatch eggs in Raise an Anomaly is the second official verb: “Hatch eggs to unlock new anomalies.” You already finished the steal guide if an egg is in your lab. This page only hatches it.

Park before you hatch
Put the egg on your plot. Community reports mention Plot capacity. If the plot is full, hatch will fail or the egg will have nowhere to live — sell or wait, do not steal a third egg into the void.
Hatching is not Merge. Merge is a later machine. Do not drop a fresh egg into Merge expecting a hatch.
Timers and growth speed
Hatch time is unpublished. The X2 GROWTH SPEED pass claims “Eggs grow 2x faster,” which implies a timer exists, but the pass was not for sale on 16 September 2026.
Stand in the lab and watch the egg. If you leave for a New Zone while the hatch is unfinished, you are playing two problems at once. Finish this one.
What you get
A hatch unlocks a baby anomaly you can feed. Official art shows several bodies (smiler, pale screamer, forest ball). In-game names for those bodies are not on the store page.
Community names (Batty, Dragon Snail, SCP-079, and others) are listed as unverified on the anomalies hub. Do not rename your hatch until the HUD says so.

Shiny and secret hatches
Shiny eggs and secret eggs are community labels. They do not get a special hatch minigame in any official sentence. Hatch them like normal eggs if you have one.
Do not reset the server for a shiny. Your first paying baby is worth more than a rumour.
Success test
You are done when a baby is standing on your plot and you are ready to feed it. That is the only hatch success condition this guide uses.
